Since graduating from Warren Wilson College with a degree in Environmental Studies, Hans has dedicated himself to building ecologically responsible healthy homes. For the past 10 years Hans has owned Jade Mountain Builders, a group of conscientious craftsman who take a holistic approach to building homes. By keeping a team of 40 highly skilled craftsman in house, Jade Mountain maintains an extremely high level of quality. Voted “Asheville’s Best Green Builder” by the readers of MtnXpress in 2013 and 2014. Jade Mountain is known for creating their own unique Japalachian Style, inspired by one of Hans’s heroes, George Nakashima.
